Opening event of WIFU Project "Coloring Competition"

In giving more or less 200 elementary school students an opportunity to immerse in two day drawing competition, we presumably could see how the big picture of WIFU Project would look like in 3 months out. On the pre-opening event, WIFU project came by 2 schools, SD Pertiwi 01/02, and SD 03 Alai, where hundreds of students joyfully get their hands smudged with colors. It was like a hype trigger to the grand opening event of this project, which was held on the 18th of January.

Involving 14 interns from China, India, Srilanka, and Australia made the atmosphere of the event felt very exceptional and special to all students. The teachers seemed so welcome to have AIESEC in their school although some were still curious of what AIESEC actually is. That was a great chance for us to spread the wing of impact in a wider scope.

The grand opening event, coloring competition, felt way more overwhelming as it went down outdoor in which a bigger number of externals get appealed to stay around. It was warmly opened by the Organizing Committee President, Agung Prasetyo Azrun. He then introduced the interns who would be taking part in the project.

Soon as each intern finished introducing themselves, the competition started. It charged up at most 2 hours for the students to finish coloring, and we at last found who would grab the prizes. In order to make it fair, the winners were specifically varied, WIFU Project’s Organizing Committees split up the scoring system on to 2 categories which were students who used colored pencil to draw and the ones who used crayon or wax pastel. To close this coloring competition event we shot one last picture along with the students, parents, and teachers.

Meaning Behind our Logo

AIESEC UNAND logo is offcially launched in July 1st 2013 as the innitiative of Marketing Communication Department 2013-2014. It consist of 3 words that represent the work ethic of AIESEC UNAND as a youth organization.

AIESEC Award 2014

AIESEC Award is one of the annual event held by at the end of term. AIESEC Award of this year is hold at Hayam Wuruk Hotel last Saturday (May 24th 2014). This event is organized by 7 peoples with Helvira Prima (ORI 21, Accountant and Governance Manager 1314) as Organizing Committee President.

This award is supposedly design to give big appreciation to our partners, entity and of course our new members ORI 22. The most honorable and the most awaited one is The Best New Member.

Beforehand, all of new members were asked to make an essay about their experiences in AIESEC.

Our partners also came to the event, they are Harian Umum Singgalang along with our Board of Advisor Bapak Basril Djabar and WarnaFm Station Manager Bunda Nina Muzbar.

From almost 50 new members submitted their story, the top 5 applicants selected and being asked questions about personal AIESEC life by the juries, Panji Agustian (MCVP IGIP AIESEC Indonesia 13/14), Siti Nurfitriana (LCVP Talent Management AIESEC UNAND 13/14) and Julianda Wirda Pratama (LC President AIESEC UNAND 13/14 and former Best New Member ORI 19). These top 5 New Members are: Fhadeo Irwandy, Fandra Syafriga, Hafiz Savero, Eko Septyadi, and Jonathan Evan Halim. After long discussion, finally that night the crown of Best New Member is placed for Eko Septyadi.

Eko Septyadi is the first year Universitas Andalas student majoring in International Economics. He joined AIESEC in October 2014. He’s currently staff of OGCDP AIESEC UNAND 13/14 and also International Conference Committe of Global Lead Summit 2014 that will be held this August. The crown is officially given by Yulianto Eka Putra, Best New Member ORI 21.
